According to Deadline's Nellie Andreeva, FOX has renewed two of its animated series.
"American Dad" has been picked up for its ninth season, while "Family Guy" will get an twelfth cycle. Both shows are expected to get 22 episodes for their respective new seasons.
The move keeps both shows on the air through the 2013-3014 season. "American Dad" is currently in its seventh season, with the eighth launching in September. With this renewal, "Family Guy" will have 239 episodes aired by the end of the twelfth season.
Meanwhile, the network has opted to postpone a decision on a fifth season pickup of "The Cleveland Show". The program is currently in its third season, with a fourth season still in production to get ready to air in the fall. Because of this, FOX can keep a decision on the back burner to see how their fall schedule will work out in the fall.
