ABC has started to make pickups for the new season.
Frontrunner "Nashville" is a family soap set against the backdrop of the Nashville music scene revolving around one star at her peak (Connie Britton) and another on the rise (Hayden Panettiere). Eric Close, Powers Boothe, Sam Palladio, Clare Bowen, Jonathan Jackson, Robert Wisdom, Charles Esten and JD Souther co-star.
"Red Widow", formerly titled "Penoza" is based on a Dutch format and revolves around the widow (Radha Mitchell) of an assassinated criminal who is forced to adopt her husband’s role in a crime syndicate in order to protect her family. Co-starring Lee Tergesen, Luke Goss, Rade Sherbedzija, Wil Traval, Suleka Mathew, Jaime Ray Newman, Sterling Beaumon, Jakob Salvati, Erin Moriarty, Anson Mount and Mido Hamada.
"Neighbors", formerly the Dan Fogleman project, is about a family who moves into a beautiful, surprisingly affordable gated community in New Jersey only to discover that all the neighbors are literally from another planet. Lenny Venito , Simon Templeman, Jami Gert, Toks Olagundoye, Tim Jo, Isabella Cramp, Clara Mamet, Ian Patrick and Max Charles star in the pilot.
"Red Van Man" is from a British format and centers on a man (Kyle Bornheimer) who is forced to put his dreams on hold in order to take over the family handyman business from his father (J.K. Simmons). Also starring are Leah Remini, Edi Gathegi, Johnny Pemberton and Danielle Nicolet.
"Zero Hour" revolves around a bizarre twist of fate which pulls a man who’s spent 20 years as the editor of a skeptic magazine into one of the most compelling conspiracies in human history. Cast in the pilot are Anthony Edwards, Scott Michael Foster, Addison Timlin, Michael Nyqvist, Carmen Ejogo and Jacinda Barrett.
