Starz Won't Renew CAMELOT, ALL MY CHILDREN Ends September 23, THE VOICE Coaches Return For Season 2

A few news bits from today.

- Starz has officially passed on the option to renew its period drama "Camelot" for subsequent seasons, Deadline reports today. Part of the reason were scheduling conflicts with some of the actors. The show, which was filmed in Ireland and starred Joseph Feinnes, Jamie Campbell Bower and Eva Green, has wrapped its first (and only) season earlier this month.

- ABC has announced that the final episode of its long-running daytime soap "All My Children" will air Friday, September 23. The final episode, of which the Alphabet says it will "will end in a manner that respects the show’s legacy and honors its history", features the returns of many beloved actors, including Josh Duhamel (Leo Du Pres), Eva La Rue (Maria Santos), Thorsten Kaye (Zach Slater), Carol Burnett (Verla Grubbs), Kate Collins (Janet Green), Jennifer Bassey (Marion Chandler), Melissa Claire Egan (Annie Chandler) and Leven Rambin (Lily Montgomery), to only name a few.

- After "The Voice" has aired its first season finale last night, NBC has confirmed that all four coaches - Christina Aguilera, Cee Lo Green, Adam Levine and Blake Shelton - will be returning for season two, which will bow in midseason on Mondays at 8 PM. "Our fantastic coaches were integral to the tremendous success of 'The Voice' this year and we are thrilled that they are all returning," said NBC/Universal Programming Vice President Paul Telegdy. "We look forward to building season two and making 'The Voice' an even greater experience for fans."

Hello Folks

Per Variety, former "Dollhouse" alumna Dichen Lachman has landed a new regular TV gig.

The Australian actress will join Syfy's "Being Human" as a series regular for the upcoming second season. She will play Izumi, a centuries-old, reclusive vampire who returns to Boston, and thereby creating quite the stir in the local vampire milieu.

Season two of "Being Human" will start shooting in Montreal soon, for an airdate sometime in 2012.

TODAY SHOW's Matt Lauer To Guest Star On ROYAL PAINS

The Hollywood Reporter reports today that "Today Show" host Matt Lauer will take a trip to the Hamptons when he guest stars on the August 7 episode "Ta Da For" of USA's "Royal Pains", which debuts its third season tonight.

Lauer will play himself in the episode, and be vacationing in the Hamptons, where Evan (Paulo Costanzo) tries to scheme a "Today Show" profile for HankMed, the medical concierge business he shares with his older brother, Hank (Mark Feuerstein).

Kyle Howard, Tony Hale and Campbell Scott appear in the same episode in guest starring parts.

Felicia Day To EUREKA, Martin Short To HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER, James Tupper To REVENGE; More News

And here are a few casting stories from the very recent past, gathered from various sources.

- Jennifer Finnigan has booked the female lead on USA's pilot "Wild Card", thereby lifting the contingency off the project, Deadline reports. The story centers on people doing the nasty at night in Las Vegas. Two vastly different lawyers, Will Garratt (Ben Lawson) and Eliza Evans (Finnigan), make it a habit of solving their problems before the morning.

- Felicia Day will be guest-starring on seven episodes of the upcoming fifth season of "Eureka", EW's Darren Franich reports. Day plays an employee of the Department of Defense, who ends up between two men - Fargo (Neil Grayston) and Dr. Parrish (Wil Wheaton). Syfy debuts season five of "Eureka" on July 11. Hit the link above for a clip and pictures.

- Per TVLine's Matt Webb Mitovich, James Tupper ("Mercy", "Men In Trees") has joined upcoming ABC drama "Revenge", which bows on September 21 at 10/9c PM. Emily VanCamp stars as Emily Thorne, who moves to the Hamptons with revenge in her heart. She's out to get the folks who did wrong to her father (Tupper) back in the day. The role was played by Marc Blucas in the pilot, but since he's now busy with USA's "Necessary Roughness", he had to be replaced.

- Joe Manganiello ("True Blood") has joined USA's "White Collar" for a guest stint, EW's James Hibberd reports. He plays an ex-con moving in across the street from Peter Burke (Tim DeKay) and his wife, Elizabeth (Tiffani Thiessen), which means trouble.

- Martin Short ("Damages") has joined the cast of CBS' "How I Met Your Mother", where he will play Marshal's (Jason Segel) boss.

- Valerie Harper ("The Mary Tyler Moore Show") is set to guest star on Lifetime's "Drop Dead Diva", per EW's Tanner Stransky. In the episode airing September 11, she will play a no-nonsense judge named Leslie Singer, who’s presiding over Jane (Brooke Elliott) in the courtroom. The case finds Jane representing a notorious bridezilla who is suing for injuries sustained after a bridal-sale stampede — but judge Singer throws out some evidence, which causes Jane to have to get creative.
Bruce Davison has also been tapped for a guest spot. In the season finale, he will play a very respected judge. The third season resumes on July 10.

And from outside the casting world:

- Nickelodeon has renewed its mystery soap "House of Anubis" for a second season of 45 episodes, to air next year.

Tom Sizemore To Recur On HAWAII FIVE-O - But What About Larisa Oleynik?

EW's James Hibberd reports that "Hawaii Five-O" has recruited another well-known face to recur on the show when it launches its second season in the fall.

Tom Sizemore ("Black Hawk Down", "Saving Private Ryan") has joined the cast for multiple episodes as a former Detroit Homicide Detective who is tasked with heading the new Hawaii Internal Affairs Unit. One of his first jobs is to look into Five-O after the mess of the season finale - without doing favors for them.

The news comes after Masi Oka (Coroner Max) has been upped to series regular, and Terry O'Quinn has joined the cast as the Navy Seal Lt. Commander who trained Steve McGarrett (Alex O'Loughlin).

Still a question mark is Larisa Oleynik. The actress, who played CIA analyst Jenna Kaye in three episodes last season, including the finale, has an option to become a regular in the second season. The option expires on Thursday, with no word on her status yet.

Kelli Giddish, Danny Pino Join LAW & ORDER: SVU; Michelle Trachtenberg Grows WEEDS

Both will play new lead detectives on the show - Pino as a replacement for Chris Meloni, who didn't re-up his contract, and Giddish is seen as a potential replacement for Mariska Hargitay, who will reduce her appearances on the show.

- Michelle Trachtenberg ("Gossip Girl", "Love Bites", "Mercy") has booked a two-episode guest stint on "Weeds". She plays a low-life hashish-dealing rival to Nancy (Mary Louise Parker) and a love interest for Silas (Hunter Parrish). "Weeds" launches its seventh season tonight at 10/9c.

Lauren Cohan, Scott Wilson Among THE WALKING DEAD; Sharon Leal, Russell Hornsby Need The SUITS

Hello Folks

Per TVLine's Michael Ausiello and the Hollywood Reporter, there are a few cast additions to two cable shows to report.

- Lauren Cohan ("Supernatural", "The Vampire Diaries", "Chuck") and Scott  Wilson ("CSI") have both joined the cast of the upcoming second season of AMC's "The Walking Dead". The story of the sophomore year will largely be set at at a farm owned by Hershel Greene (Wilson). Cohan will play Hershel's daughter Maggie, a self-reliant woman and love interest for Glenn (Steven Yuen). Pruitt Taylor Vince has previously been cast as the farm's foreman.

"The Walking Dead" is expected to return in the fall for 13 new episodes.

- Sharon Leal ("Hellcats") and Russell Hornsby ("Lincoln Heights", upcoming "Grimm") have both grabbed guest spots in USA's freshman law drama "Suits". In episode 4 Leal will play a consultant for a company that's being sued for falsifying FDA drug trial results. Her relationship with the company's CEO doesn't really help to forge a valid defense, either.

Hornsby appears in the same episode as Quentin Sainz, a man from Jessica's (Gina Torres) past. He faces a lawsuit because his company's breakthrough drug for ALS patients may have unexpected deadly side effects, and now the drug faces removal from the market. Jessica gives him Harvey (Gabriel Macht) as his attorney, a man who isn't very fond of Quentin.

Titus Welliver has been previously announced to be guest starring on "Suits". He will play Dominic Barrone, an automotive engineer. His engine is the reason McKernon Motors is successful. When a crisis threatens the future of the company, he needs Harvey's help, even though Dominic doesn't really trust him.

A few news items from the last few hours.

Josh Lucas Set For Lead In NBC's THE FIRM

NBC has officially announced that Josh Lucas will be leading the cast of NBC's upcoming legal drama "The Firm", based on the 1993 feature film starring Tom Cruise, which was an adaptation of the John Grisham novel.

From the press release:

Lucas will star as attorney Mitchell McDeere (the role originated by Tom Cruise in the film) in the series, which picks up McDeere’s story about a decade after the events of the novel and film. Lucas also stars as famed aviator Charles Lindbergh in Imagine Entertainment’s upcoming 2011 film, “J. Edgar,” directed by Oscar winner Clint Eastwood and starring Academy Award winner Leonardo DiCaprio as controversial FBI Director J. Edgar Hoover.

Based on the blockbuster feature film and the best-selling novel of 1991, with seven million copies sold by world-renowned author Grisham, "The Firm" continues the story of attorney Mitchell McDeere (Lucas) who, as a young associate, brought down the prestigious Memphis law firm of Bendini, Lambert & Locke, which operated as a front for the Chicago mob.  After a difficult decade, which included a stay in the Federal Witness Protection program, McDeere and his family now emerge from isolation to reclaim their lives and their future -- only to find that past dangers are still lurking and new threats are everywhere.

CBS and the show's producers were not surprised about Fishburne not returning. "Nobody expected him to be on the show for 7 years, it's Laurence Fishburne," an insider told Deadline.

It remains to be seen how the cliff-hanger of the 11th season finale will be resolved.

90210 Loses Another Regular, Jim Parsons Visits iCARLY, Josh Duhamel Back To ALL MY CHILDREN

Hello Folks

Some good, and some not so good news from the casting front.

- TVLine's Michael Ausiello reports that when "90210" returns for its fourth season in the fall, Trevor Donovan, how plays fresh-out-of-closet Teddy on the show, won't be back as a regular, but merely appear in five episode during the new season. “I look back on getting this real-life story line as a blessing,” Donovan told TVLine in a statement. “To be able to simultaneously take on a challenging role and bring awareness to a relevant social issue was a win-win for me. I’m looking forward to what opportunities and adventures lie ahead.”
The show also bids farewell to Ryan Eggold and Lori Laughlin next season, and welcomes new showrunners Patti Carr and Lara Olsen ("Life UneXpected"), who fill the void Rebecca Sinclair left when she announced her exit.

- Jim Parsons will make a guest appearance on "iCarly" during the show's fourth season, TVLine's Megan Masters reports. The man best known as Sheldon on CBS' "The Big Bang Theory" will play Caleb, a psych ward patient who thinks he's from the future. Carly (Miranda Cosgrove) and her friends meet him during a visit to said ward.

- EW's Lynette Rice has the exclusive news that Josh Duhamel will return to "All My Children" for a final hurrah before the show goes off the air for good in September. He will reprise his role of artist Leo Du Pres. (Yes, this means he probably didn't die back then in that waterfall accident... or will it be a flashback?)
