Patrick Dempsey To Exit GREY'S ANATOMY After Next Season, THE VOICE Gets Post-SuperBowl Slot; More

Here are some news bits from the last hours.

First, from TVLine's Michael Ausiello:

- Patrick Dempsey has announced in the Italian "Vanity Fair" he will leave "Grey's Anatomy" after the end of season 8. “It’s gonna be my last,” he says. “I do not know what’s going to happen to the other characters, but for me it’s done.”
"Grey's Anatomy" creator Shonda Rhimes has previously explained that she expects more than one original cast member to leave after their contracts are up after next season. "It might be the last hurrah for a lot of them; you never know,” she said. “I really don’t know and I don’t presume to know. Everybody has an individual choice to make and I get that…. All the originals are in play.”

- Sam Waterston ("Law & Order") has joined the cast of Aaron Sorkin's HBO drama pilot "More As This Story Develops". The project looks behind the scenes of a cable news network. It centers on Will McCallister (Jeff Daniels), the anchor of a popular cable news show, and the staff. Olivia Munn an Alison Pill co-star, with Emily Mortimer still in negotiations to join as well. Waterston plays McCallister's boss.

- NBC has announced that it will give its breakout hit format "The Voice" the coveted post-SuperBowl slot in 2012. SuperBowl XLVI will air on February 5.
"There is no better showcase on television than to follow the Super Bowl, and we believe 'The Voice' is deserving of such high-profile exposure," said NBC Chairman Bob Greenblatt. "The attention grabbing blind audition phase of 'The Voice' has mass appeal and will fittingly team up with the biggest sporting event of the year."

Fourth Season Of BREAKING BAD To Premiere July 17

AMC has finally set a premiere date for the much-anticipated fourth season of its successful drama "Breaking Bad".

After more than a year off the air, the show starring Bryan Cranston will finally return for its fourth season on Sunday, July 17, at 10 PM.

Rebecca Mader To COVERT AFFAIRS, Roseanne Barr To CHELSEA, More Castings

Some casting news, gathered from TVLine.

- Rebecca Mader ("No Ordinary Family", "Lost") has joined the cast of USA's second season of "Covert Affairs", which premiers June 7, for a guest spot. On the sixth episode of the  CIA spy drama starring Piper Perabo, Mader plays Franka, a German flight attendant who ends up helping Auggie (Christopher Gorham) with a mission.

- Brady Smith, the real-life husband of actress Tiffany Thiessen, has signed on to guest star on a July episode of his wife's USA drama "White Collar", which also returns June 7, for its third season. Smith plays a ex-Navy commander and COO of a security firm in the vein of Blackwater, who has ties to Agent Clinton Jones' (Sharif Atkins) past.

- Roseanne Barr ("Roseanne") is in talks to join the cast of "Are You There Vodka? It's Me Chelsea", NBC's upcoming midseason comedy starring Laura Prepon as a young version of Chelsea Handler, playing her at a time when she was a cocktail waitress. Barr will play Handler's aunt on the show, if the deal goes through.

- Debi Mazar ("Entourage") has joined the cast of FX' "Sons of Anarchy", playing SAMCRO's federal parole agent.

Paget Brewster Returns To CRIMINAL MINDS, Rachel Nichols Bids Farewell

After Paget Brewster's NBC pilot "My Life As An Experiment" didn't get picked up, this was pretty much bound to happen.

TVLine's Megan Masters reports that Brewster will return full-time next season on "Criminal Minds", bringing her character of Emily Prentiss back to the fold. A.J. Cook has already returned to the show, as J.J. announced her wish to come back to the team in the final moments of the sixth season finale.

On the other hand, Rachel Nichols, who played newly minted agent Ashley Seaver for the latter half of season six, has officially been let go, as she was mainly cast to fill the void left by Cook. Now, with both Brewster and Cook returning, there is simply no room left for Seaver.

Thomas Gibson is the only "Criminal Minds" actor not yet signed for next season. Negotiations are ongoing.

WEEDS Gets More Actors, Two More To AMERICAN HORROR, More

- According to TVLine's Matt Webb Mitovich, Aidan Quinn ("Book of Daniel") and Martin Short ("Damages") have both landed parts on the upcoming seventh season of Showtime's "Weeds". For more spoilery info about the new season and the roles the newly added actors play, hit the link above.

- Deadline's Nellie Andreeva reports that Frances Conroy ("Six Feet Under","Happy Town") and Alexandra Breckenridge ("Life Unexpected") have both joined the cast of Ryan Murphy's FX pilot "American Horror Story", which centers on therapist Ben Harmon (Dylan McDermott), who moves into a new house with his wife (Connie Britton) and their kids, only to encounter something very sinister. Conroy and Breckenridge will play the same role - that of the family's housekeeper. Conroy in present day, and Breckenridge as a younger version.

- Per EW's Sandra Gonzalez, Rockmond Dunbar ("Prison Break") has signed on to play the new hard-nosed Charming sheriff on FX's "Sons of Anarchy" for multiple episodes. Additionally, LaMonica Garrett has come aboard as well, playing Deputy Sheriff Cane, one of a bunch of law enforcers trying to put some pressure on the guys of SAMCRO.

- James Van Der Beek ("Dawson's Creek", "Mercy") will guest star on USA's final season of "Law & Order: Criminal Intent, TVLine's Megan Masters reports. The "Social Network" themed episodes show Van Der Beek as Rex Tamlyn, an overconfident, hard-partying playboy and partner in a Facebook-Like website devoted to “connecting people who share fleeting romantic encounters."

- Also from TVLine's Megan Masters comes the news that Billy Brown ("Lights Out") has joined the cast of "Dexter" to play Miami Metro's latest feather-ruffling Detective, a man who likes to change things up. But Dexter, as we know, despises change…

Saffron Burrows To Be Replaced On THE FINDER

According to EW's James Hibberd, FOX has decided to re-cast the female lead on the upcoming "Bones" spinoff "The Finder".

Saffron Burrows has played the part of Geoff Stults' sidekick in the backdoor pilot that aired as a "Bones" episode in March. The role will now be re-conceived and re-cast.

One of the reasons might be Burrows' rather pronounced accent. Some fans were complaining that she was hard to understand.

Recasts of pilots are common when shows get picked up. Damon Wayans Jr. will have to be replaced on FOX' comedy "The New Girl" because his first-position show "Happy Endings" got renewed, and Toby Stephens will not be part of NBC's "Prime Suspect" when it launches in the fall.

Chris Meloni Exits LAW & ORDER: SVU

Per TVLine's Michael Ausiello and Matt Webb Mitovich, Chris Meloni won't be back for the upcoming 13th season of "Law & Order: SVU", when it launches in the fall.

Negotiations to lock the portrayer of Det. Elliott Stabler and the producing studio NBC Universal have reportedly broke down today. Creator Dick Wolf is already looking for a replacement.

- TVLine's Michael Ausiello reports that Edward James Olmos ("Battlestar Galactica", "Miami Vice") has joined the cast of Showtime's "Dexter" in a major role. He will play a professor of religious studies, a man who is described as "charismatic".

- EW's Lynette Rice reports that Danny Glover is set to guest star on an upcoming episode of "Psych" over on USA. He will play a minor league team manager seeking help from Shawn (James Roday) and Gus (Dulé Hill) when the team's coach suddenly ends up dead. Michael Trucco ("Fairly Legal") will also be in the episode, as is Baseball Hall of Famer and 1996 World Series Champion Wade Boggs.

Ana Ortiz To HUNG, Lindsay Sloane To WEEDS, Rod Hallett To TERRA NOVA; More

Four casting bits from the weekend, all per TVLine.

- Ana Ortiz ("Ugly Betty") has landed a multi-episode arc on HBO's comedy "Hung". She will play a woman with anger issues who ends up becoming a client for part-time prostitute Ray (Thomas Jane). He helps her with her ferocious sexual appetite as well as her strong emotional needs.

- Alice Eve ("She's Out Of My League") will join the cast of "Entourage" for four episodes in the upcoming final season. She plays a journalist who is set to write a profile piece about Vincent (Adrian Grenier), and might just end up a love interest for him.

- Lindsay Sloane ("Grosse Pointe", "Sabrina The Teenage Witch") has joined the cast of Showtime's "Weeds" for at least six episodes next season, playing a new love interest for Andy Botwin (Justin Kirk). She's cast as Maureen, a cute and quirky New York artist who feels drawn to Andy.

- British actor Rod Hallett ("The Tudors") is the latest actor to join the cast of prehistoric FOX drama "Terra Nova". He will be on board full-time, playing Dr. Malcolm Wallace, the charming and confident
man that comes between Jim Shannon (Jason O'Mara) and his wife Elisabeth (Shelley Conn).

Showtime Cancels UNITED STATES OF TARA, Renews NURSE JACKIE

You thought that after the upfronts, we're done with cancellations and renewals? Well, guess again.

Per TVLine's Michael Ausiello, Showtime has officially canceled its half-hour dramedy "United States of Tara", and has declared the current third season to be the last.

The ratings of the show have taken a tumble this year, averaging at just 300'000 viewers per week, compared to 560'000 weekly viewers over the course of the second season.

On the other hand, Showtime has renewed its drama "Nurse Jackie" for a fourth season.

Andrea Parker To PRETTY LITTLE LIARS, Joel Gretsch To IN PLAIN SIGHT; More Casting News

Some casting news of lately, gathered from various sources. Beware, there are some slight spoilers in the role descriptions below.

- Andrea Parker (“The Pretender”, “Less Than Perfect”) has joined the cast of ABC Family’s upcoming second season of “Pretty Little Liars” in the recurring part of Jessica DiLaurentis, Alison’s (Sasha Pieterse) mother. Described as a seemingly sweet woman, she comes to Rosewood to organize a fashion show. She is excited when the four titular Liars want to help out, but, as usual, all is not what it seems. Parker’s first appearance is set for the sixth episode.

- Joel Gretsch (“V”) will guest star in this season’s 9th episode of USA’s “In Plain Sight”.  He will play a JAG attorney who helps out Mary and Marshall with a decorated war-vet witness.

- Alison Pill (“In Treatment”) and Olivia Munn (“Perfect Couples”) have both joined Aaron Sorkin’s HBO pilot “More As This Story Develops”. The story centers on cable news anchor Will McCallister (Jeff Daniels), and revolves around his own cable news show, as well as its female executive producer and staff. Pill plays an associate producer at the assignment desk, while Munn is a sexy financial analyst on the same network as McCallister.

- Chris Vance (“Prison Break”) has come aboard as the lead of “Transporter”, the TV series based on the “Transporter” feature series starring Jason Statham, which will air on Cinemax in 2012. The high-octane show promises to deliver everything the movies did: “Car chases. Stunts. Fights, Beautiful girls. Villains. Heroes. Guns.”

ONE TREE HILL's Ninth Season Will Be The Last

According to EW's James Hibberd, departing CW entertainment president Dawn Ostroff told advertisers at its portion of the upfronts that when long-running drama "One Tree Hill" returns for its ninth season of 13 episodes, that will be it.

The show will return in midseason, early next year for its final hurrah.

May 19, 2011 (New York, New York) ─ The CW Network unveiled the schedule for its 2011-2012 season today at its annual upfront presentation for advertisers, affiliates and national media from Jazz at Lincoln Center.  Electro hip-hop group LMFAO staged a rousing flash mob dance and performed their hit song “Party Rock Anthem” to open the show.  The announcement was made by Dawn Ostroff, President of Entertainment, and Mark Pedowitz, the new President of The CW.


“We’re thrilled to present the most exciting primetime schedule The CW has ever had, comprised of shows that feature bold concepts, proven TV stars and up-and-coming, breakout talent,” said Ostroff. “In just five years, we’ve built an instantly recognizable brand that resonates with both viewers and advertisers and is known for being smartly provocative, culturally current, emotionally authentic and a leader in digital and social media.  This upcoming season will continue to establish The CW as a premier destination for our viewers, especially women.”


“Our priority this season was adding more original programming this upcoming year, and we’ve done that with shows that will appeal to our core audience of women, while also bringing in new viewers,” said Pedowitz.  “We’re being aggressive with smart, bold scheduling moves designed to improve key time periods and grow our audience.”


“‘Hart of Dixie,’ from the ‘Gossip Girl’ team of Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage, is a medical franchise with a proven star in Rachel Bilson,” added Pedowitz.  “Sarah Michelle Gellar has incredible appeal to our core audience and beyond, and when word got out that she was starring in ‘Ringer’ on our network, it went viral online immediately.  ‘The Secret Circle’ is from Kevin Williamson, the producer of ‘The Vampire Diaries,’ and is also based on a popular series of books by author L.J. Smith, and it fits perfectly on Thursday nights.  Our new reality series ‘H8R,’ and ‘Re-Modeled’ and ‘The Frame’ at midseason, are brash and loud, and continue our commitment of giving our audience more original content all season long.  And we’re thrilled to have ‘One Tree Hill’ return for its farewell season this spring.  The 2011-2012 season is poised to be The CW’s best season yet.”


On Monday night, one of the most talked-about shows on television, GOSSIP GIRL, returns to the 8:00-9:00 p.m. timeslot, leading into the new drama HART OF DIXIE from 9:00-10:00 p.m.  From the creators of GOSSIP GIRL and “The O.C.,” HART OF DIXIE stars Rachel Bilson as Doctor Zoe Hart, a sophisticated New York City woman who finds herself practicing medicine in a small Southern town.


90210 graduated from West Beverly High and moves over to Tuesday nights, 8:00-9:00 p.m. Following 90210, 9:00-10:00 p.m., is one of the most buzzed-about shows of the new season, RINGER, starring Sarah Michelle Gellar, who stars as a woman on the run, who assumes her twin sister’s identity, only to discover that her sister’s life is just as complicated and dangerous as the one she’s trying to escape.


On Wednesday, new reality series H8R brings celebrities face-to-face with the people who love to hate them, with host Mario Lopez, 8:00-9:00 p.m.  With its focus on celebrity culture, H8R gives a great lead-in to the first-ever All-Stars edition of AMERICA’S NEXT TOP MODEL from 9:00-10:00 p.m.


Thursday night will feature two shows from star producer Kevin Williamson and based on a series of books by author L.J. Smith.  The CW’s top-rated show THE VAMPIRE DIARIES returns in the 8:00-9:00 p.m. timeslot, leading into new drama THE SECRET CIRCLE from 9:00-10:00 p.m.  Britt Robertson stars as Cassie, an orphaned teenage girl who discovers the truth about her lineage – she’s a witch who holds the key to an ancient battle between good and evil.


Friday nights are action-packed, with the sexy and exciting NIKITA moving to 8:00-9:00 p.m. and the Winchester brothers of SUPERNATURAL returning in the 9:00-10:00 p.m. timeslot.

“THE FRAME”

Syfy Acquires LOST GIRL For The US

EW's James Hibberd reports today that Syfy has acquired the rights for  two seasons of the sexy Canadian supernatural series "Lost Girl" , which airs on ShowCase in Canada.

The show centers on Bo, a bisexual succubus, who grew up in an adopted human family, unaware of her non-human nature and of the "Fae" world. A succubus is a female Fae (supernatural being) that feeds on sexual energy, with fatal results for humans if the succubus has not learned how to control their powers. Bo's succubus powers only became apparent to her when she killed her first love, forcing her to flee her home. Bo left her previously normal life for one without family or friends, moving from place to place whenever she kills again.
Season one follows Bo's navigation of the Fae world, control over her powers, and her developing romantic relationships with Dyson, a wolf shifter police detective, and Lauren, a human doctor. Bo also searches for her origins - her biological mother and the reason she was abandoned.

"Lost Girl" stars Anna Silk, Ksenia Solo ("Life Unexpected"), Kris Holden-Ried, Zoie Palmer, K.C Collins and Emmanuelle Vaugier.

TNT, TBS Announce Development Slates - THE CLOSER Spinoff Announced

Aside from CBS, which holds its portion of this year's upfronts today, there's also TNT and TBS who both present their new slates today. And since they are under the same roof, they have issued a joint press release for their current development slates.

But first off, there's the announcement that Conan O'Brien, who hosts its daily talk show "Conan" on TBS, is planning to go on tour again. Read for yourself:

Conan O’Brien Will Take His TBS Show on the Road for the First Time with a Week-Long Visit to New York in Late 2011, Followed by a Trip to Chicago in 2012


For TBS, Conan O’Brien is taking his late-night talk show CONAN on the road for the first time. O’Brien will set up shop at the Beacon Theater in New York Oct. 31-Nov. 3 to celebrate the first anniversary of his arrival at TBS. The event will mark O’Brien’s first stint in New York since he hosted Late Night with Conan O’Brien. In 2012, CONAN will hit the road again for a stop in Chicago.

TNT announces "The Closer" spinoff "Major Crimes", which will follow the seventh and final season of "The Closer" in 2012.

This year marks the beginning of production of the final season of the blockbuster hit The Closer, starring Emmy® winner Kyra Sedgwick. TNT confirmed today that it has ordered a 10-episode season of Major Crimes, a series set in the Los Angeles Police Department that promises to become television’s next great crime drama. The seventh and final season of The Closer will include 15 episodes in 2011 and six in summer 2012, leading into the launch of Major Crimes, starring Mary McDonnell (Battlestar Galactica). McDonnell has been featured on The Closer as Capt. Raydor, who was often on a collision course with Deputy Police Chief Brenda Leigh Johnson, played by Sedgwick. Major Crimes will be executive-produced by James Duff, creator of The Closer, along with Greer Shephard and Michael M. Robin. Major Crimes and The Closer come to TNT from Warner Bros. Television.

Untitled Shaun Cassidy/Kimberly Williams-Paisley Project – When a hot Southern mess of a family takes in their widowed daughter-in-law and her gifted young son, these vibrant characters all in their own way come to learn that it’s not the family you’re born into that counts but the family you make. This emotional comedy/drama, set in and around the bucolic town of Franklin, Tenn., comes to TNT from executive producers Kimberly Williams-Paisley (According to Jim), Brad Paisley and Shaun Cassidy (Roar, Invasion).

Untitled Mitch Albom Project – Set in a Detroit radio station, this drama follows a station manager who, against his wishes, returns home to try and breathe life into his struggling city. The project comes to TNT from best-selling author and columnist Mitch Albom (Tuesdays with Morrie).

Snatched – Should she settle down and have a family? Or jump out of a plane while retrieving a priceless artifact? This hero finds herself at the ultimate crossroads of domesticity and a full-throttle adrenaline rush. Snatched comes to TNT from Prospect Park and Steven Mitchell and Craig W. Van Sickle (Tin Man).

The Command – The Command centers on an elite and real squad of detectives within the New York City police department – Borough Command. Cherry-picked by one commanding officer, these detectives get only the toughest, highest-profile and most-unsolvable cases. The best detectives, the hardest cases. Untitled Phoef Sutton Project – Anchored by lead detective Emerson Slade, this single-camera comedy spoofs cop and detective shows. Men at Work (working title) – When Milo is thrust into single life after discovering his girlfriend has been cheating, he finds comfort in three best friends who help reinvent his manhood with the promise of sex, alcohol and some serious bromance. Innocent – Twenty years after being cleared in the death of his mistress, Judge Rusty Sabich is charged with the murder of his late wife. During the trial, a secret affair from Rusty’s recent past threatens to hamper his defense and fracture his relationship with his son. Innocent is based on Scott Turow’s book, a sequel to his blockbuster hit Presumed Innocent. The movie is written, directed and executive-produced by Mike Robe (TNT’s Nightmares & Dreamscapes: From the Stories of Stephen King).

Ricochet – Two homicide detectives find their careers – and lives – on the line when they get caught up in a case of murder and betrayal in high-society Savannah. Based on the book by #1 New York Times best-selling author Sandra Brown, the project is executive-produced by Howard Braunstein (The Informant!) and Jim Head (On Strike for Christmas) and written by Donald Martin (The Craigslist Killer).

Silent Witness – In this legal drama based on a novel by Richard North Patterson, prominent defense attorney Tony Lord returns to his hometown to defend an old friend, a teacher accused of murdering one of his students. The case re-opens the heartache from Tony’s own high school days, when he was a student falsely accused of murdering his first love. Lizzie Friedman and Greg Little, the team behind One Lucky Elephant, Whiz Kids and Sex and Death 101, serve as executive producers. The script is being written by Thomas Michael Donnelly (Our Fathers).

Deck the Halls – Adapted from the first book in Mary Higgins Clark and daughter Carol Higgins Clark’s series of holiday mystery novels, this warm-hearted story brings together two of the authors’ most popular characters: Detective Regan Reilly and cleaning-woman-turned-private-eye Alvirah Meegan. The women investigate the kidnapping of Regan’s father and a young female driver just before the holidays. The race is on to rescue the pair and get them home in time for Christmas. Howard Burkons (John Q, TNT’s The Ron Clark Story) is set to write the script. He will executive-produce with Brenda Friend (Joan of Arc, The Ron Clark Story).

Good Morning, Killer – Based on a novel by April Smith, this thriller follows FBI Special Agent Ana Gray as she hunts for a kidnapper. As Ana develops a rapport with the kidnapper’s latest victim, the suspect suddenly changes his pattern. Now Ana must race to find him before he strikes again. Smith is set to write the script and executive-produce the project.

Hide – Based on the book by Lisa Gardner, Hide pits two detectives against a killer who seems to have returned from the dead. The project is written by Janet Brownell (Eloise at the Plaza) and executive-produced by Stephanie Germain (The Day After Tomorrow).

The Killer Next Door – This project is based on the true story surrounding the horrific attack on a respectable couple in an upscale New York neighborhood. With the man killed and the woman disfigured, suspicion immediately falls on their charming, handsome son. As the truth becomes clear, the community is shocked to learn that the murderer may not be the person they would expect. The Broken – This tense drama centers on a Los Angeles police officer caught in a dangerous situation when she is forced to go on the run with a murder suspect. They must fight to stay one step ahead of the assassins and cops on their trail. Written by Rick Dahl, the project is being executive-produced by Danielle von Zerneck (Living in Oblivion, God’s Lonely Man) and Frank von Zerneck (Miracle on Ice, First Daughter).

The CW Picks Up Two More Reality Shows; Plus The List Of Dead Pilots

After The CW announced its cancellations, I allowed myself to get a bit more sleep last night. So here's what happened after my eyes went shut.

Per Deadline's Nellie Andreeva, The CW has added two more reality projects to its lineup for next season.

"The Frame" is sort of "Big Brother" in a single room In the bi-weekly show, 10 teams of two will each live in a single room -- one Frame -- for up to eight weeks, under 24/7 surveillance. They will face challenges, head-to-head competitions and eliminations, all while isolated from the outside world, with the viewers controlling who stays and who goes.

And then there's "Re-Modeled", in which modeling industry veteran Paul Fisher is planning to bring together hundreds of small agencies around the world in a new venture called The Network to make sure agents in small towns no longer get screwed, and to empower models to take control of their careers and lead healthier lives.

In addition, Andreeva also mentions in another post that all the other scripted CW pilots - "Awakenings", "Cooper and Stone", "Danni Lowinsky" and "Heavenly" - are now officially dead.

The CW Cancels HELLCATS

On the heels of the renewals for "One Tree Hill" and "Nikita", Deadline's Nellie Andreeva also reports that "Hellcats" has been canceled.

No surprise there, as the show didn't even manage to interest 1 Million viewers in total for its latest episode.

And according to Deadline's Nellie Andreeva, The CW has also renewed "Nikita" for a second season.

The CW Renews ONE TREE HILL For Season 9

Well, after they signed the cast on for more, this is not really a big surprise.

According to Deadline's Nellie Andreeva The CW has renewed its long-running drama "One Tree Hill" for a ninth season.

Actress Sophia Bush tweeted that the renewal is for 13 episodes.

BLUE BLOODS Taps New Showrunner, Will Return Next Season

According to Deadline's Nellie Andreeva, CBS has tapped Ed Zuckerman ("Law & Order", "JAG") as the new showrunner for its cop drama "Blue Bloods" next season.

While the show is not yet officially renewed, it is now very much confirmed that it will return next seaason - but with some adjustments. CBS is looking to take the show into a more procedural direction. The hiring of Zuckerberg is a hint to that, based on the list of shows he has been working on in the past.

The CW Officially Orders THE RINGER, Plus SECRET CIRCLE, HART OF DIXIE, H8R For Fall

According to Variey's Cynthia Littleton, The CW has made its first official orders for the new fall season.

Aside from now making the order of "The Ringer" starring Sarah Michelle Gellar official, The CW also ordered "The Secret Circle" and medical drama "Hart of Dixie" starring Rachel Bilson to series.

"Secret Circle", from "The Vampire Diaries" creator Kevin Williamson, centers on a young woman (Britt Robertson) moving to a new town where she finds out she's a witch and part of a secret coven. And she's the key to unlock a centuries-old battle between good and evil. Thomas Dekker ("Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles") co-stars.

"Hart of Dixie" is about New York City doctor Zoe Hart who, after inheriting a medical practice, moves to the small Southern town where it’s located and finds that the townsfolk are quite the bizarre bunch. Scott Porter and Cress Williams co-star.

Also ordered is reality program "H8R", which unites celebrities with the people that most hate them, so they can convince them that their hatred is misdirected. Mario Lopez will host.

HOUSE Casting Shocker: Lisa Edelstein Is Done With The Show

According to TVLine's Michael Ausiello, there will be a very familiar face missing when "House" returns for its eighth and probably final season.

Lisa Edelstein, who plays Dr. Cuddy on "House", has decided not to re-up her contract with the show for next season. Means, she won't be returning to the show.

FOX and NBC Universal didn't comment, but Edelstein now issued the following statement:

“After much consideration, I am moving onward with a combination of disappointment at leaving behind a character I have loved playing for seven years and excitement of the new opportunities in acting and producing that lie ahead.”

Back in March, Edelstein was saying she was looking forward to the eighth season. But word is, cost cutting measures for the show made it impossible to reach a deal with her.

CBS Cancels CRIMINAL MINDS: SUSPECT BEHAVIOR, But Renews CSI: NEW YORK

One down, one to go on… Per TVLine's Michael Ausiello, in a somewhat surprising move, CBS has decided not to go on with a second season of its "Criminal Minds" spinoff "Suspect Behavior", and canceled the show after one season.

On the other hand, bubble show "CSI: New York" got the happy news that the Eye will continue it for another season. But it might be that it won't be a full season.

June (Dreama Walker) moves to Manhattan for a dream job and the perfect company apartment, only to have them disappear in a puff of reality, thanks to a CEO from the Bernie Madoff school of embezzlement. Deep in debt and out on the streets, June scrambles to land a job and place to live. It seems her luck has turned around when she gets hired at a coffee shop and finds Chloe (Krysten Ritter), a charming, vivacious roommate... with the morals of a pirate. She swindles June out of all her savings, but she and her snarky friend, James Van Der Beek (playing himself), soon learn that, just because June’s naïve, she isn’t stupid. June ingeniously turns the tables on Chloe, who is so shocked about being scammed herself that she decides to pull June into her colorful band of friends. Sure, it’s all dysfunctional, bizarre and overwhelming, but so is New York City. And with the help of Chloe and the other oddballs around her, June might just learn the survival secrets she needs to make it there.

Men may have built civilizations, invented the locomotive and created ESPN, but they’re about to find out that it’s not a man’s world anymore. You can’t get manlier than Mike Baxter. He’s the marketing director for an iconic outdoor sporting goods store, he loves to have adventures while he’s traveling for work and, of course, he drives a pick-up truck. While Mike is king of the hill at work, he’s the odd man out in a home that is dominated by women -- namely his wife, Vanessa, and their three daughters, 22- year-old Kristin, 17-year-old Mandy and 14-year-old Eve. After being a stay-at-home mom for years, Vanessa recently returned to the workplace and was quickly promoted (much to the dismay of her primarily male co-workers). As a result of Vanessa’s increased work load, Mike is pulled into more hands-on parenting than ever before.

Single father George only wants the best for his 16-year-old daughter, Tessa. So when he finds a box of condoms on her nightstand, he moves them out of their apartment in New York City to a house in the suburbs. But all Tessa sees is the horror of over-manicured lawns and plastic Franken-moms. Being in the ‘burbs can be hell, but it also may just bring Tessa and George closer than they’ve ever been.


Tessa (Jane Levy) and George (Jeremy Sisto) have been on their own ever since Tessa’s mom pulled a “Kramer vs. Kramer” before she was even potty trained. So far, George has done a pretty good job of raising Tessa without a maternal figure in their lives, but suddenly he’s feeling a little out of his league. So it’s goodbye New York City and hello suburbs. At first Tessa is horrified by the big-haired, fake-boobed mothers and their sugar-free Red Bull-chugging kids. But little by little she and her dad begin finding a way to survive on the clean streets of the ‘burbs. Sure, the neighbors might smother you with love while their kids stare daggers at your back, but underneath all that plastic and caffeine, they’re really not half bad. And they do make a tasty pot roast.

This high-concept comedy centers on two unrepentant guy’s guys who, unable to find work, dress as women to get jobs as pharmaceutical reps. Not only do they pull it off, but they might just learn to be better men in the process.


With unemployment an ongoing issue and women now outnumbering men in the workforce, the new comedy series “Work It” follows two alpha males who realize the only way to beat the current “mancession” and land a job in pharmaceutical sales is to pass themselves off as women. Combining all the best elements of the workplace comedy, the buddy comedy and the family comedy, “Work It” centers on Lee Standish (Ben Koldyke) -- a quick-witted and likable family man who used to be a top car salesman until he got laid off -- and Angel Ortiz (Amaury Nolasco) -- a single, hot-headed ladies’ man with no filter -- who quickly learn there are fundamental differences in the worlds of men and women that go beyond teetering in high heels and tightening up with Spanx. When the brilliant and driven neurosurgeon Dr. Megan Hunt (Dana Delany) suffered a car accident resulting in a unique condition where she could no longer perform surgery, her life as a neurosurgeon was over. But a new one began as a Medical Examiner for the City of Philadelphia. Megan applied her vast medical knowledge and her personal tenacity to the art of solving murders. These cases challenged her not just professionally but personally, as on more than one occasion she came face to face with her past, and in one case in particular she was compelled to perform life saving emergency surgery. But in the explosive Season 3 finale, which saw the killing of NYPD Captain Roy Montgomery – who was revealed to have a connection to the unsolved murder of Beckett’s mother -- Castle witnessed the shooting of Beckett and, as she lay on the ground with life fading out of her, it’s unknown if she’ll survive...

“America’s Funniest Home Videos” begins its 22nd season with all-new footage of what happens when adults, children and animals are at their spontaneous best. Hosted by Tom Bergeron, “America’s Funniest Home Videos” is the longest-running primetime entertainment show in ABC history. 


Vin Di Bona is executive producer, with Todd Thicke and Michele Nasraway serving as co-executive producers. 


“THE BACHELOR”
ABC’s “The Bachelor” is the original primetime romance reality series that offers one lucky man and 25 lucky women the unique opportunity to find true love. This season the hit series will feature its 16th edition with the new Bachelor getting to know 25 women via a series of social gatherings and exotic, romantic dates – some in groups, some individually. He will introduce some of the women to his family and will visit their hometowns for a slice of their lives in an effort to determine the woman with whom he is most compatible. At the end of the journey, filled with drama and surprises against the backdrop of spectacular international settings, the Bachelor may quite possibly have found true love. But the big question is: After all of this, will he pop the question, and will she say yes?

“DANCING WITH THE STARS”
