E!Online's Kristin Dos Santos reports today that Dewon Sawa ("Casper", "Final Destination") has joined the cast of The CW's Nikita in what looks like a regular role from episode 5 onward.
Sawa plays, per the official description, "a highly trained Division agent who is equal to Nikita in skill."
"Nikita" premiers September 9 at 9 PM.
Additionally, per the Hollywood Reporter, Stuart Townsend ("Night Stalker", "Robot Chicken") has grabbed the lead of the upcoming conspiracy series "XIII".
Townsend will play the titular secret agent who resembles Jason Bourne in the fact that he has no recollection of his past, and tries to uncover his true identity while being hunted by an anti-government organization.
"XIII" is based on Jean Van Hamme's graphic novel of the same name, which has sold 13 million copies around the globe since its launch 25 years ago. The show will by Canada's Prodigy Pictures and France's Cipango. It will first air on Showcase in Canada and on Canal Plus in France next spring.
Duane Clark "CSI: Miami, "CSI:NY") is set to direct three of the 13 episodes, which will begin production in Toronto in the fall.
