Newsies: Disney Orders More WAVERLY PLACE, Amy Ryan Gets TREATMENT, CBS Wants MAD LOVE, More

Some news gathered from the presses...

- The Disney Channel has announced that it has ordered a fourth season of "The Wizards Of Waverly Place". The family comedy starring Selena Gomez will also get a second movie outing. The script for the sequel is already in the works.

- Per the Hollywood Reporter, CBS is close to ordering its comedy pilot "Mad Love" to series for midsaeason. The Eye is mulling a 13-episode order for the show about four friends in New York, with two of them falling for one another. Jason Biggs, Minka Kelly and Lizzy Caplan starred in the pilot.

- Amy Ryan is joining the cast of HBO's "In Treatment", Deadline.com reports today. She will play Paul's (Gabiel Byrne) new therapist on the show.

- The CW has announced a premiere date for its reality summer series "Plain Jane". The show will launch on Wednesday, July 28, at 9 PM ET.

- And lest not forget that sad news has come to our attention today. Former "Golden Girls" star Rue McClanahan has Passed Away this morning from a massive stroke. She was 76. Her role of Blanche Devereaux on the much-acclaimed sitcom made her a legend, who now lives on in our hearts and minds.
