The Hollywood Reporter reports today that Freddie Prinze, Jr. has been cast in FOX'real-time drama "+24", in the role of new head of Field Ops at CTU, Davis Cole, a recently returned marine who looks to follow in Jack Bauer's footsteps.
Additionally, per EW's Michael Ausiello, John Lithgow has joined the fourth season of Showtime's "Dexter", where he'll appear in all 12 episodes as Walter Simmons, an unassuming suburbanite who leads a dark double life as a serial killer who does his murders in threes, thus landing him the name "Trinity Killer".

Two New Faces For "24"
The Hollywood Reporter reports today that Jennifer Westfeldt and John Boyd have both joined the cast of the eighth, New-York-based season of FOX' "24".
Westfeldt, who had memorable role on the past season's "Grey's Anatomy"/"Private Practice" crossover, will recur on the real-time drama as ambitious journalist Meredith Reed, who has ties to Arman Hashemi (Anil Kapoor), a middle east leader coming to the U.S. on a peacekeeping mission.
Boyd will have the regular role of CTU systems analyst, Jonah Schwartz.

Sydney started an affair with David despite her turbulent history with his estranged father, Dr. Michael Mancini (Thomas Calabro, the original "Melrose Place"). Both father and son learned through experience that Sydney was not above using blackmail to control people. Another tenant, high-powered publicist Ella Simms (Katie Cassidy, "Supernatural"), once considered Sydney her mentor, but their friendship was destroyed by betrayal, and Sydney threatened to evict Ella and ruin her career. Sydney also played a pivotal role in the career of Auggie Kirkpatrick (Colin Egglesfield, "All My Children"). After spending all of her 15 years bouncing from one foster family to another in Portland, Oregon, Lux (Britt Robertson, "Swingtown") has decided it's time to take control of her life and become an emancipated minor. Her journey through the legal maze leads Lux to her biological father, 30-something Nate "Baze" Bazile (Kristoffer Polaha, "Mad Men"), who owns a bar, lives like an aging frat-boy with two slacker roommates, and is astonished to learn that he has a teenage daughter. After spending all of her 15 years bouncing from one foster family to another in Portland, Oregon, Lux (Britt Robertson, "Swingtown") has decided it's time to take control of her life and become an emancipated minor. Her journey through the legal maze leads Lux to her biological father, 30-something Nate "Baze" Bazile (Kristoffer Polaha, "Mad Men"), who owns a bar, lives like an aging frat-boy with two slacker roommates, and is astonished to learn that he has a teenage daughter. 24 Gets A New Chief
EW's Michael Ausiello reports today that Chris Diamantopoulos ("The Starter Wife")has been cast in the regular role of new Chief of Staff to President Allison Taylor, on the upcoming eighth season of "24".

TNT, TBS and truTV all part of Atlanta-based Turner Entertainment Networks are unveiling a broad slate of programming today, including new projects in development from industry giants Steven Spielberg and Steven Bochco and box-office star Kevin James.
Turner's Upfront event today in New York marks the second-straight year TNT, TBS and truTV present in the midst of what was once a week solely for broadcasters.

This summer, four original series return to TNT. The lineup is led by THE CLOSER, ad-supported cable's #1 series of all time. THE CLOSER is in its fifth season, starring Golden Globe winner Kyra Sedgwick. The series will be joined by the third season of SAVING GRACE, starring Academy Award winner Holly Hunter, and the second seasons of RAISING THE BAR, from executive producer Steven Bochco, and LEVERAGE, from executive producer Dean Devlin.
TNT will debut three new series this summer: HAWTHORNE stars Jada Pinkett Smith (The Women, The Matrix trilogy) as Christina Hawthorne, the forceful-yet-caring chief nursing officer at a Virginia hospital; DARK BLUE, from producer Jerry Bruckheimer (the CSI series, Without a Trace), is an intense police drama led by a cast that features Golden Globe winner Dylan McDermott (The Practice, TNT's The Grid); and WEDDING DAY, a new series from DreamWorks Television and Mark Burnett (Survivor), gives deserving couples the wedding of their dreams.
In December 2009, TNT plans to debut the new series MEN OF A CERTAIN AGE, a character-based drama from Everybody Loves Raymond Emmy winners Ray Romano and Mike Royce. Romano will star in the project, which will take a wry look at what it means to be a guy approaching mid-life, with Andre Braugher (Homicide: Life on the Street) and Scott Bakula (Quantum Leap).
TNT today announced development plans for these new scripted drama series:
· UNTITLED ALIEN INVASION PROJECT Six months after a worldwide alien invasion, a group of everyday heroes must rise up to fight for their survival all while maintaining their humanity in the process. This project has been ordered to pilot and comes to TNT from DreamWorks Television and filmmaker Steven Spielberg, who will serve as executive producer along with DreamWorks Television heads Justin Falvey and Darryl Frank and screenwriter Robert Rodat. Rodat, who earned an Oscar nomination for his screenplay for Saving Private Ryan, is writing the script for the pilot from an idea he co-conceived with Spielberg.
· CLASS ACTION (working title) Steven Bochco, the mastermind behind many dramas, including TNT's Raising the Bar, joins with Stephen Godchaux (Spin City) for this project, which follows a down-on-his-luck attorney as he fights for the disenfranchised.
· ZAPATA, TEXAS (working title) The husband-and-wife team of Kyra Sedgwick (TNT's The Closer) and Kevin Bacon co-conceived and will executive-produce this project, which is the story of a small Texas border town and its newly elected sheriff, "favorite son" Zeke. ZAPATA, TEXAS will follow Zeke as he navigates the equally treacherous waters of small-town politics and the volatile world of the U.S./Mexico border. Bacon is attached to direct the pilot.
· UNTITLED MATT WILLIAMS FAMILY DRAMA Matt Williams, creator of Roseanne and co-creator of Home Improvement, takes a personal, passionate and ultimately heroic look at a loving, middle-American family that is keeping it together at a time when everything is trying to pull them apart.
· UNTITLED DANIEL PYNE NOIR DRAMA Daniel Pyne's many credits as a writer include The Manchurian Candidate (2004), Any Given Sunday and Pacific Heights. This project from Warner Horizon Television is set in 1954 Los Angeles, where a private detective tries to do the right thing as the ever-changing world makes it more difficult.
· PASTOR JAZZ This drama focuses on a minister, his music and his passion for people's hearts and souls, from the neediest to the wealthiest. Charles S. Dutton (The Express, Roc) is Pastor Jazz in this project, which is from Warner Horizon Television, Dutton, Mitchell Burgess (The Sopranos, Northern Exposure) and Robin Green (The Sopranos, Northern Exposure).
· MACALISTER Henry Shepard is a washed-up-novelist-turned-professor who tries to inspire the boys of The Macalister School. F.J. Pratt (Less Than Perfect) and Dan Cohen (Less Than Perfect) look into the minds and mischief of students at an all-boys school in upstate New York, showing how one man can have an impact on children of wealth and privilege.
· PROOF Dr. Geoffrey Pierce is an eccentric neuroscientist who uses his unique outlook to help the federal government solve complex cases. With an intimate knowledge of human behavior and a masterful understanding of the mind, this quirky, crime-solving doctor pulls lessons from an odd and imaginative view of the world. This project comes from ABC Studios, Kenneth Biller (Legend of the Seeker, Star Trek: Voyager) and Mike Sussman (Star Trek: Voyager)

· THE MAYO CLINIC When someone is ill and has been told nothing more can be done, there is one place to go the renowned Mayo Clinic, where hope springs eternal. This project will chronicle the lives of Mayo doctors and their patients. Bill Guttentag (Nanking) and David Kanter (Rendition) are executive producers.
· TRIP OF A LIFETIME Everyone has a dream or a wish unfulfilled. TRIP OF A LIFETIME will bring together extended, disconnected and deserving families. It could revolve around a lost family member, an unknown child, a missing brother or simply a returned keepsake. The project will be executive-produced by acclaimed author and travel expert Peter Greenberg and Rich Heller (Dallas: War of the Ewings)

TBS's popular series include Tyler Perry's HOUSE OF PAYNE, which was the #1 program on television among African-American adults 18-49 the last two summers. On May 27, TBS will premiere new episodes of Tyler Perry's MEET THE BROWNS. During the initial 10-episode run of the show, MEET THE BROWNS ranked as the #1 scripted series among African-American adults 18-49. In July, the popular family comedy THE BILL ENGVALL SHOW will return for its third season, airing Saturdays.
TBS plans to debut two new shows, both previously announced. A talk show starring George Lopez promises to change the late-night landscape in November. Versatile entertainer Lopez will bring excitement back to talk shows with a street-party atmosphere and a high-energy crowd. The show is from 2.2 Productions, paraMedia Inc. and Telepictures Productions, in association with Warner Horizon Television.
In 2010, TBS will premiere NEIGHBORS FROM HELL, a half-hour animated series featuring the Hellmans, a typical suburban family that happens to be from hell. NEIGHBORS FROM HELL comes to TBS from Fox TV Animation (Family Guy), DreamWorks Animation SKG and Jeffrey Katzenberg (Shrek). Pam Brady (South Park), who wrote the pilot episode, and Mireille Soria (Madagascar) will serve as executive producers.

· THE GAME OF LIFE This half-hour sitcom follows four Pittsburgh friends as they reunite in their early 30s, only to discover life didn't turn out quite as planned. THE GAME OF LIFE comes to TBS from Sony Pictures Television, executive-produced by Kevin James (The King of Queens, Paul Blart: Mall Cop), Rock Reuben (The King of Queens) and Jeff Sussman (The King of Queens, Paul Blart: Mall Cop).
· BIG TOW This animated project from Sony Pictures Television, Tantamount and executive producer Clay Graham (The Drew Carey Show) will follow the life of J.D. Biggs, a small-town Tennessee single dad and local hero who runs a towing company.
· WEE HOURS From Second City TV and executive producer Lowell Mate, this slice-of-life sketch comedy employs the talents of the legendary Second City comedy troupe to tell stories of Chicagoans during the wee hours of midnight to 6 a.m.

Mike Ballard, beautiful bartenders and a full cast of characters race against the clock to serve huge crowds at Ballard's Full Throttle Saloon in Sturgis, S.D., during the town's famed, nine-day motorcycle rally. More than 300,000 people visit the Full Throttle Saloon during the annual event, where Ballard and his team feel the pressure to make a year's salary in a short time window, all while providing patrons an experience they will not forget. The series marks the first time cameras have been allowed to capture every minute.

· ZAPATA, TEXAS (working title) The husband-and-wife team of Kyra Sedgwick (TNT's The Closer) and Kevin Bacon co-conceived and will executive-produce this project, which is the story of a small Texas border town and its newly elected sheriff, "favorite son" Zeke. ZAPATA, TEXAS will follow Zeke as he navigates the equally treacherous waters of small-town politics and the volatile world of the U.S./Mexico border. Bacon is attached to direct the pilot.
· UNTITLED MATT WILLIAMS FAMILY DRAMA Matt Williams, creator of Roseanne and co-creator of Home Improvement, takes a personal, passionate and ultimately heroic look at a loving, middle-American family that is keeping it together at a time when everything is trying to pull them apart.
· UNTITLED DANIEL PYNE NOIR DRAMA Daniel Pyne's many credits as a writer include The Manchurian Candidate (2004), Any Given Sunday and Pacific Heights. This project from Warner Horizon Television is set in 1954 Los Angeles, where a private detective tries to do the right thing as the ever-changing world makes it more difficult.
· PASTOR JAZZ This drama focuses on a minister, his music and his passion for people's hearts and souls, from the neediest to the wealthiest. Charles S. Dutton (The Express, Roc) is Pastor Jazz in this project, which is from Warner Horizon Television, Dutton, Mitchell Burgess (The Sopranos, Northern Exposure) and Robin Green (The Sopranos, Northern Exposure).
· MACALISTER Henry Shepard is a washed-up-novelist-turned-professor who tries to inspire the boys of The Macalister School. F.J. Pratt (Less Than Perfect) and Dan Cohen (Less Than Perfect) look into the minds and mischief of students at an all-boys school in upstate New York, showing how one man can have an impact on children of wealth and privilege.
· PROOF Dr. Geoffrey Pierce is an eccentric neuroscientist who uses his unique outlook to help the federal government solve complex cases. With an intimate knowledge of human behavior and a masterful understanding of the mind, this quirky, crime-solving doctor pulls lessons from an odd and imaginative view of the world. This project comes from ABC Studios, Kenneth Biller (Legend of the Seeker, Star Trek: Voyager) and Mike Sussman (Star Trek: Voyager)
TNT is also developing these unscripted dramas:
· THE MAYO CLINIC When someone is ill and has been told nothing more can be done, there is one place to go the renowned Mayo Clinic, where hope springs eternal. This project will chronicle the lives of Mayo doctors and their patients. Bill Guttentag (Nanking) and David Kanter (Rendition) are executive producers.
· TRIP OF A LIFETIME Everyone has a dream or a wish unfulfilled. TRIP OF A LIFETIME will bring together extended, disconnected and deserving families. It could revolve around a lost family member, an unknown child, a missing brother or simply a returned keepsake. The project will be executive-produced by acclaimed author and travel expert Peter Greenberg and Rich Heller (Dallas: War of the Ewings)

TBS Programming and Development Plans
TBS's popular series include Tyler Perry's HOUSE OF PAYNE, which was the #1 program on television among African-American adults 18-49 the last two summers. On May 27, TBS will premiere new episodes of Tyler Perry's MEET THE BROWNS. During the initial 10-episode run of the show, MEET THE BROWNS ranked as the #1 scripted series among African-American adults 18-49. In July, the popular family comedy THE BILL ENGVALL SHOW will return for its third season, airing Saturdays.
TBS plans to debut two new shows, both previously announced. A talk show starring George Lopez promises to change the late-night landscape in November. Versatile entertainer Lopez will bring excitement back to talk shows with a street-party atmosphere and a high-energy crowd. The show is from 2.2 Productions, paraMedia Inc. and Telepictures Productions, in association with Warner Horizon Television.
In 2010, TBS will premiere NEIGHBORS FROM HELL, a half-hour animated series featuring the Hellmans, a typical suburban family that happens to be from hell. NEIGHBORS FROM HELL comes to TBS from Fox TV Animation (Family Guy), DreamWorks Animation SKG and Jeffrey Katzenberg (Shrek). Pam Brady (South Park), who wrote the pilot episode, and Mireille Soria (Madagascar) will serve as executive producers.
TBS also announced today that it is developing the following:
· THE GAME OF LIFE This half-hour sitcom follows four Pittsburgh friends as they reunite in their early 30s, only to discover life didn't turn out quite as planned. THE GAME OF LIFE comes to TBS from Sony Pictures Television, executive-produced by Kevin James (The King of Queens, Paul Blart: Mall Cop), Rock Reuben (The King of Queens) and Jeff Sussman (The King of Queens, Paul Blart: Mall Cop).
· BIG TOW This animated project from Sony Pictures Television, Tantamount and executive producer Clay Graham (The Drew Carey Show) will follow the life of J.D. Biggs, a small-town Tennessee single dad and local hero who runs a towing company.
· WEE HOURS From Second City TV and executive producer Lowell Mate, this slice-of-life sketch comedy employs the talents of the legendary Second City comedy troupe to tell stories of Chicagoans during the wee hours of midnight to 6 a.m.

"TBS is also dedicated to quality, original programming. We are working with great comedy talent to create shows that complement our lineup of acquired series."
truTV Programming and Development Plans
truTV is continuing to grow as a destination for young men, with a broad lineup of original series that take action-seekers to places they could otherwise never experience. truTV's rebranding in 2008 included a drop in median age by five years to 47.
The network is adding to its original series this year, including these projects:
· NFL FULL CONTACT (working title) truTV and NFL Films will provide unprecedented, exclusive access to what really goes on behind the scenes in professional football, from draft day to the Super Bowl.
· CONSPIRACY THEORY WITH JESSE VENTURA He's undertaken some of the most dangerous missions in the world as a Navy SEAL. He's body-slammed giants in the wrestling ring as a WWE superstar. He's even conquered politics as the governor of Minnesota. Now, Jesse Ventura is about to face his greatest challenge yet: uncovering the most compelling, modern-day conspiracy theories. CONSPIRACY THEORY is produced by A. Smith & Co. Productions (Hell's Kitchen, I Survived a Japanese Game Show, Kitchen Nightmares).
· U.S. SPECIAL OPS: DECLASSIFIED (working title) From producer Tom DeSanto (X-Men, Transformers) and 44 Blue Productions comes a thrilling new series that unlocks the case files of America's elite terrorist hunters. Through a mix of cutting-edge computer animation, action-packed recreations and hair-raising interviews with actual agents, this series will recount the shocking, formerly top-secret details of the people who keep us safe while we sleep.
· FULL THROTTLE This four-part series, produced by A. Smith & Co. Productions, will provide an inside look at the world's largest biker bar. Mike Ballard, beautiful bartenders and a full cast of characters race against the clock to serve huge crowds at Ballard's Full Throttle Saloon in Sturgis, S.D., during the town's famed, nine-day motorcycle rally. More than 300,000 people visit the Full Throttle Saloon during the annual event, where Ballard and his team feel the pressure to make a year's salary in a short time window, all while providing patrons an experience they will not forget. The series marks the first time cameras have been allowed to capture every minute.
"We looked at what has been most successful in building our audience and found that young guys really respond to competition, to situations with consequences, to great characters and to a little comic relief," said Marc Juris, executive vice president and general manager, truTV/IN SESSION. The new DRAMAS:
NCIS: LOS ANGELES is a drama about the high stakes world of undercover surveillance at the Office of Special Projects (OSP), a division of NCIS that is charged with apprehending dangerous and elusive criminals that pose a threat to the nation's security. By assuming false identities and utilizing the most advanced technology, this team of highly trained agents goes deep undercover, putting their lives on the line in the field to bring down their targets. Special Agent "G" Callen (Chris O'Donnell) is a chameleon who transforms himself into whomever he needs to be to infiltrate the criminal underworld. His partner is Special Agent Sam Hanna (LL COOL J), a former U.S. Navy SEAL who has seen action in both Afghanistan and Iraq, and a surveillance expert who uses state of the art monitoring equipment to look out for those in the field and feed them crucial information. Both Callen and Hanna report to Special Agent Lara Macy (Louise Lombard), the OSP team leader responsible for directing the operations and making life-or-death decisions. Assisting the team is Special Agent Kensi Lo (Daniela Ruah), the exceptionally bright daughter of a slain Marine who lives for the adrenalin rush that comes with undercover work, and Operational Psychologist Nate Getz (Peter Cambor), adept at getting into anybody's head, profiling the target and monitoring agents' states of mind before, during and after missions. Armed with the latest in high tech gear and sent regularly into life-threatening situations, this tight-knit team relies on each other to do what is necessary to protect national interests. Shane Brennan ("NCIS") is the executive producer for CBS Television Studios.
THE GOOD WIFE is a drama starring Emmy Award winner Julianna Margulies as a wife and mother who must assume full responsibility for her family and re-enter the workforce after her husband's very public sex and political corruption scandal lands him in jail. Pushing aside the betrayal and crushing public humiliation caused by her husband Peter (Chris Noth), Alicia Florrick (Margulies) starts over by pursuing her original career as a defense attorney. As a junior associate at a prestigious Chicago law firm, she joins her longtime friend, former law school classmate and firm partner Will Gardner (Josh Charles), who is interested to see how Alicia will perform after 13 years out of the courtroom. Alicia is grateful the firm's top litigator, Diane Lockhart (Christine Baranski), offers to mentor her but discovers the offer has conditions and realizes she's going to need to succeed on her own merit. Alicia's main competition among the firm's 20-something new recruits is Cary (Matt Czuchry), a recent Harvard grad who is affable on the surface, but will use any means to ensure that he, not Alicia, secures the one full-time associate position that's available. Fortunately, Alicia finds an ally in Kalinda (Archie Panjabi), the firm's tough in-house investigator. Gaining confidence every day, Alicia transforms herself from embarrassed politician's scorned wife to resilient career woman, especially for the sake of providing a stable home for her children, 14-year-old Zach (Graham Phillips) and 13-year-old Grace (Makenzie Vega). For the first time in years, Alicia trades in her identity as the "good wife" and takes charge of her own destiny. Leading the elite team is Dr. Andy Yablonski (Alex O'Loughlin), the highly-skilled workaholic lead organ transplant surgeon, whose good-natured personality and sarcastic wit makes him popular with his patients and colleagues. His colleagues include Dr. Miranda Foster (Katherine Moennig), a surgical fellow with a rebellious streak and fiery temper who strives to live up to her deceased father's excellent surgical reputation; Dr. David Lee (Daniel Henney), a womanizing surgical resident who's broken as many hearts as he's replaced; Ryan Abbott (Christopher J. Hanke), the inexperienced new transplant coordinator who arranges the intricately choreographed process of quickly and carefully transporting organs from donor to patient; Dr. Sophia Jordan (Julia Ormond), the head of surgery and a dedicated medical professional; and Pam Acosta (Justina Machado), Andy's no-nonsense operating assistant and best friend. Dr. Christopher Deleo, "Dr. C.," is a playboy who thrives on the high-stakes of trauma medicine and is, by his own description, a genius redneck. Dr. Serena Warren (Elisabeth Harnois) is fresh out of medical school, and head nurse Tuck Brody (Omar Gooding) keeps the doctors on track and the patients' families updated in this chaotic corner of the medical profession. Together, this team of doctors excels in the "golden hour," the 60 minutes after being critically injured, when a patient's life hangs in the balance. The series intimately documents these three arranged marriages, starting with the first meetings of the families and the wedding day; and then follows the couple through the day-to-day joys, challenges, and emotional tumult that results from their arranged union. According to a Tweet from EW's Michael Ausiello, The CW has now officially canceled its comedies "The Game" and "Everybody Hates Chris". That the network would get rid of its comedies was foretold by many sources.
Additionally, the ax has also officially fallen on "Reaper", but it was only a logical conclusion after showrunners Tara Butters and Michele Fazekas have left.
The option for a syndication pickup with various local CW affiliates may still being mulled. But I wouldn't hold my breath.

GOSSIP GIRL's Chace Crawford Goes FOOTLOOSE
The Hollywood Reporter reports today that Chace Crawford, best known of course as Nate on The CW's "Gossip Girl", has been set to replace Zac Efron in Paramounts remake of the classic dance feature "Footloose".
It'll be a while though before you see chace heating up the dancefloor. Shooting is set to begin in March of 2010, with Kenny Ortega ("High School Musical") directing and producing.

NBC's shared time period strategy will kick off this fall on Mondays with the premiere of "Heroes" (8-9 p.m. ET) continuing with all originals before "Chuck" assumes the time period after the 2010 Winter Olympic Games, which will be a powerful launching platform with its broad, female appeal and strong ratings as the most-watched event of the year. Using "NBC Sunday Night Football's" potent promotional platform, the new high-octane drama "Trauma" will debut Mondays (9-10 p.m. ET) with the epic event series "Day One" taking over the time period following the Olympics.
NBC's successful "The Biggest Loser" series continues Tuesdays (8-10 p.m.) and will help launch the new Wednesday lineup this fall, with the new family drama "Parenthood" debuting (8-9 p.m. ET) and the new hospital drama "Mercy" assuming the time period post-Olympics. "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit" will air 9-10 p.m. ET following "Parenthood."
NBC's Thursday marquee comedy night will begin with the only live comedy between 8-10 p.m. on any network, "Saturday Night Live Weekend Update Thursday" (8-8:30 p.m. ET), followed by "Parks and Recreation" (8:30-9 p.m. ET), "The Office" (9-9:30 p.m. ET) and the new comedy "Community" (9:30-10 p.m. ET). After "Saturday Night Live Weekend Update Thursday" completes its multi-week run, "Community" will move to 8 p.m. and "30 Rock" will debut at 9:30 p.m., enabling NBC to feature more original comedy than ever before.
On Fridays in the fall, the enduring drama "Law & Order" will return for its record 20th season (tying "Gunsmoke" as the longest running drama series in primetime) and will lead off at 8-9 p.m. (ET) while "Southland" follows at 9-10 p.m. (ET), building a great crime block.
Saturdays will be a showcase for "Dateline NBC" (8-9 p.m. ET) and encore episodes of "Trauma" (9-10 p.m. ET) and "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit" (10-11 p.m. ET).
"Football Night in America" (7-8:20 p.m. ET) and " NBC Sunday Night Football" (8:20-11 p.m. ET) - the number one show of the fall -- will return on Sundays in the fall with a fan-pleasing schedule of games to round out the fall season.
Utilizing the compatible demographics provided by the Olympics, NBC will launch the premieres of "The Marriage Ref" from executive producers Jerry Seinfeld and Ellen Rakieten ("Oprah") on Sundays (8-9 p.m. ET) and the third season premiere of "The Celebrity Apprentice" on Sundays with two-hour editions (9-11 p.m. ET). In addition, the new comedy "100 Questions" will debut on Tuesdays (9:30-10 p.m. ET) following a 90-minute edition of "The Biggest Loser" (8-9:30 p.m. ET).

CHUCK Renewal Linked To Subway Sponsorship
It was on-again-off-again with Chuck for quite a while, then finally late last week, the news broke that "Chuck" would live to see another season (or at least half a season).
And now we know the reason...
NBC announced the renewal officially today, and explained why it actually happened. The network was able to make a sponsorship deal with Subway. NBC has inked an advertising partnership with Subway to continue the show. But read for yourself:

ABC Cancels CUPID, ACCORDING TO JIM; SURVIVING SUBURBIA Not Dead Yet

The Hollywood Reporter reports today that NBC has finally decided to renew its veteran police drama "Law & Order" for another season of presumably 16 episodes.
This brings the show to 20 seasons, which ties it with another long-running drama, "Gunsmoke", something that Dick Wolf was always trying to achieve.

ABC Cancels SAMANTHA WHO?
EW's Michael Ausiello reports that ABC has decided not to renew its comedy "Samantha Who?" after all. Even the prospect of adding a third camera to still retain the single-camera feel was not enought to secure a third season.
At least, the finale promises some form of closure. The seven remaining episodes of the second season have yet to get an airdate, but the last one "feels like a series finale", per an ABC insider.

GLEE
McKinley High School’s Glee Club used to be at the top of the show choir world, but years later, it has turned into a haven for misfits and social outcasts. But at McKinley, things for the Glee Club are about to change. From Ryan Murphy, the creator of “Nip/Tuck,” comes GLEE, an uplifting comedy musical series with biting humor that features a soundtrack of hit music from past to present. The show follows an optimistic high school teacher as he tries to refuel his own passion for singing while reinventing the school’s glee club and challenging a group of underdogs to realize their star potential. WILL SCHUESTER (Matthew Morrison) has offered to take on the Herculean task of restoring McKinley’s Glee Club to its former glory with the help of fellow teacher and germaphobe EMMA PILLSBURY (Jayma Mays). It’s a tall order when the brightest stars of the club include KURT (Chris Colfer), a nerdy soprano with a flair for the dramatic; MERCEDES (Amber Riley), a dynamic diva-in-training who refuses to sing back-up; ARTIE (Kevin McHale), a geeky guitarist who spends more time avoiding bullies than chasing girls; and TINA (Jenna Ushkowitz), an awkward girl who needs to suppress her stutter before she can take center stage. THE CLEVELAND SHOW is a new animated series that follows everyone’s favorite soft-spoken neighbor, CLEVELAND BROWN (Mike Henry), to his hometown in Virginia as he settles down with his high school sweetheart, her unruly kids and his own 14-year-old son, CLEVELAND JR. (Kevin Michael Richardson). Many years ago, Cleveland was a high school student madly in love with a beautiful girl named DONNA (Sanaa Lathan). Much to his dismay, his love went unrequited, and Donna wound up marrying another man. Cleveland once told Donna he would always love her, and if this man ever done her wrong, he’d be there when she called. Well, this man done her wrong. Donna’s husband ran off, leaving Donna with a teenage daughter and a young son. Now she’s open to Cleveland and has offered him another chance at love. Unattached after the Loretta-Quagmire debacle and true to his word, Cleveland joyously reunites with Donna, and he and Cleveland Jr. move to Virginia to join their new family. Starring Michael Strahan (“FOX NFL Sunday”) and Daryl “Chill” Mitchell (“Ed,” “Veronica’s Closet”), BROTHERS is a new half-hour comedy about a former NFL hot shot who learns that even though you can always go home again, the trip back might be tougher than you think. MIKE TRAINOR (Strahan) seemingly has it all – he’s a good-looking, wealthy and recently retired NFL player living the high-life in New York City, but he’s about to get sidelined. When Mike gets a phone call from his MOM (CCH Pounder, “The Shield”) who orders him home to Houston, he quickly realizes the more his life has changed, the more his family has stayed the same. His brother CHILL (Daryl “Chill” Mitchell), whose life was altered drastically after a car accident left him in a wheelchair, is struggling to keep his restaurant afloat with the help of his loudmouth associate, ROSCOE (Colton Dunn, “MADtv”). The dynamics between Mike and Chill are the same as when they were kids, and their sibling rivalry hasn’t lessened with age. If they can stop their bickering, put aside their differences and learn to be teammates, the brothers might just turn out to be each other’s biggest asset. Rose, comes PAST LIFE, a new drama series about an unlikely pair of past-life detectives who investigate whether what is happening to you today is the result of who you were before. DR. KATE MCGINN (Kelli Giddish, “All My Children”) is not your typical psychologist. Confident, outspoken and highly educated, she works at The Talmadge Center for Behavioral Health in New York City, a world-renowned institute dedicated to the study of the science of the soul. SONS OF TUCSON
In the tradition of “Malcolm in the Middle” and “The Bernie Mac Show,” SONS OF TUCSON is a family comedy about three brothers who hire a charming, wayward schemer to stand in as their father when their real one goes to prison. What begins as a business relationship evolves into something more complex and compelling: a family unlike any we’ve ever seen. The three brothers find their dad-for-hire, RON SNUFFKIN (Tyler Labine, “Reaper”), at the local sporting good store. Ron will be forced to draw on a wide array of skills and a vast bag of tricks as he steps into the patriarch role to take care of the boys of the Gunderson family. ROBBY GUNDERSON (Davis Cleveland, “How I Met Your Mother”), 8, is a loose cannon who doesn’t respond well to authority; GARY GUNDERSON (Frank Dolce, “Doubt”), 11, is a bright and street-savvy leader who is every bit the con man his father is; and BRANDON GUNDERSON (Troy Gentile, “Entourage”), 13, is a gentle free spirit who simply goes along for the ride. CBS Orders Staffing For MIAMI TRAUMA, U.S. Attorney
The Futon Critic reports today that CBS has given the greenlight to start hiring staff for two projects, medical drama "Miami Trauma" and the formerly untitled Frank Military project "U.S. Attorney".
This is pretty much a confirmation that the network will pickup those two shows. If it's for fall or midseason remains to be seen.

CBS Renews COLD CASE, Future For THE UNIT, WITHOUT A TRACE Grim
Hello Folks!
CBS has now officially renewed its drama "Cold Case" for a seventh season, EW's Michael Ausiello reports.
However, things are looking grim for two other veteran CBS shows. A return for "The Unit" and "Without A Trace" is considered unlikely at this point. "Trace" has a small chance of securing a midseason order.

ABC Cancels THE UNUSUALS
Variety reports that "The Unusuals" creator Noah Hawley has announced on his Twitter page that ABC has definitely passed on a renewal for "The Unusuals". The last four episodes of the season will air from May 27.

EW's Michael Ausiello has updated his Fall TV Status Chart with the information that FOX has definitely canceled "Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles".

ABC Looking To Bring Back SAMANTHA WHO? - In Multi-Camera Format
Variety reports today that in addition to the pickups that came together late last week, ABC is also looking to bring back its comedy "Samantha Who?" for another season. But, as with the renewed "Chuck", budget cuts are part of the deal. If the show returns, it would be shot in multi-camera format, which is cheaper to produce than a single-camera show.

Finally! NBC Renews CHUCK!! - But Only For 13 Episodes
Variety reports today that after though negotiations with Warner Bros. TV, NBC has finally renewed its sophomore drama "Chuck" for a third season. But there's a catch: It will have a smaller budget to play with.
Additonally, the Hollywood Reporter reports that the renewal is only for 13 episodes.
So, still, now you can really start to celebrate.

CBS Might Bring Back COLD CASE, But Could Kill THE UNIT, WITHOUT A TRACE
The Hollywood Reporter reports today that CBS is moving closer to ordering another season of "Cold Case", as well as bringing back midseason replacement "Rules Of Engagement".
Meanwhile, the outlook is currently grim for two other shows. On Sunday, it looked like both "Without A Trace" and "The Unit" might be done.

BONES Renewal: It's A Double!
Noone really had a doubt that FOX would keep "Bones" on the schedule. But the real surprise is in the detail: According to several sources, EW's Michael Ausiello being one of them, FOX has ordered up two more seasons of the show!

The "NCIS" spinoff was considered a lock for the fall schedule for quite some time now. The only questio that remains: Will it be paired with "NCIS" on Tuesday?
"The Good Wife" is legal drama starring Julianna Margulies.
And "Three Rivers" is toplined by Alex O'Loughlin ("Moonlight"), which was a big bonus that payed off against "Trauma", the other medical drama in the run at CBS.

ABC Orders "V" To Series - THE ASSOCIATES Now Called THE DEEP END
Per the Hollywood Reporter, ABC has picked up the reinvention of the classic sci-fi series "V", presumably for 13 episodes, and not only for 6 episodes, as previously reported.
Additionally, the Alphabet changed the title of its picked up pilot "The Associates" to "The Deep End". That show is said to be held for midseason, and recieved only a 6-episode order.

FOX Renews BONES For Fall
OK, that one was pretty much a given, but still: The Hollywood Reporter reports today that FOX has issued a renewal for its successful crime drama "Bones.
The pickup for a fifth season comes after a bit of touch-and-go over the license fee. Negotiations between the network and producing sister company Fox Televsion, because the network are looking to cut costs wherever they can.

ABC Picks Up THE FORGOTTEN, EASTWICK, HANK, THE MIDDLE
ABC has ordered up a bunch of new shows for the fall.
The Jerry Bruckheimer produced "The Forgotten" is about a team of detectives working on cases of unidentified victims. It stars Anthony Carrigan, Michelle Borth, Bob Stephenson, Rochelle Aytes, Rupert Penry-Jones and Reiko Aylesworth.
"Eastwick", based on the popular feature film "The Witches Of Eastwick", revolves around three young witches, played by Rebecca Romjin, Jaime Ray Newman, Lindsay Price, who find their powers when a mysterious man arrives in town. Daivd Nutter directed the pilot, and retains his record of every one of his pilots getting picked up.
"Hank" stars Kelsey Grammer as a Wall Street hot-shot who loses his job and has to reconnect with his small-town family.
"The Middle" was already a pilot two years ago, starring Ricki Lake. The new version stars Patricia Heaton and Neil Flynn ("Scrubs"), and tells the story of a Midwestern family from the middle class, through the eyes of the mother. For Flynn, whose former series "Scrubs" secured a ninth season renewal, "The Middle" is in first position.
