A bunch of pilot news from the Hollywood Reporter:
- Laura Leighton, Alexis Denisof, Ashley Benson, Shay Mitchell, Jean-Louisa Kelly and Nia Peeples have all been cast in ABC' family's hourlong drama pilot "Pretty Little Liars", starring Lucy Kate Hale ("Privileged", "Bionic Woman") and Troian Bellisario.
The story centers on four girls, Aria (Hale), Emily (Mitchell), Spencer (Bellisario) and Hanna (Benson). They start receiving mysterious messages, apparently from a girlfriend who disappeared three years ago.
Leighton plays Hannah's mother, Denisof is Aria's father. Kelly and Peeples also play parents.
Bianca Lawson, Sasha Pieterse and Torrey DeVitto have landed recurring parts.
- Tracy Fairway and Nick Robinson have come aboard the untitled ABC multi-camera comedy pilot starring Melissa Joan Hart and Joey Lawrence. It revolves around a wild-child-turned-politician (Hart). When her sister lands in jail and her brother-in-law flees, she takes in her niece (Fairway) and nephew (Robinson). She asks Jack (Lawrence) for help with the kids, making him their "manny".
- Vanessa Marano ("Without A Trace") and Chloe Bridges have joined the untitled Michael Jacobs single camera comedy starring Scott Cohen and Stephanie Childers.
It revolves around a young dad (Cohen), who recently got laid off from his architecture firm. He begins to identify with and mentor his underdog middle daughter (Marano) as his veterinarian wife (Childers) shares a closer bond with their Type-A older daughter (Bridges).
Valerie Tian ("Juno") has also been cast in the project to play a friend of one of the girls.
